And you thought you had seen it all when you watched Damian Lillard go off in the Orlando bubble.
You thought his 45-point performance with 11 three pointers was the peak Lillard experience. You thought 61 points in an incredible 134-131 win over the Mavericks was as good as it could get for the Trail Blazers superstar. You didn't think Dame Time could reach new heights.
But on Tuesday night (or Wednesday morning, depending what time zone you're in), those new heights were reached. And then some. And it still wasn't enough.
That's right — Lillard poured in 55 points on 12 three pointers, which is an NBA playoff record, while also dishing out 10 assists. And two of those treys came in incredible, jaw-dropping, Damian Lillard-esque fashion.
Seriously?! Can you believe your eyes?! Are you not entertained?! And, believe it or not, they still lost. But let's not worry about that for now. Let's continue to celebrate the man that is Damian Lillard, whose statistical performances and cold-blooded, no-doubt clutch demeanor continue to blow the minds of the NBA universe every night. No, not just the NBA universe. The entire Twittersphere got together for this one to express just how incredible the performance was.
I'm supposed to be a neutral, unbiased bystander here, but I can't resist saying this. I hope the Blazers win Game 6. And I hope the Blazers win Game 7. I need more Playoff Dame. We all need it.
