The Astros hate has now trickled into their home ballpark.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were in Houston on Tuesday for a two-game series against the Astros and a horde of Dodgers fans made sure to make the trip to Minute Maid Park to get their shots in at the team who beat them in the 2017 World Series.

And they made sure they would be heard.

A video from the Fox broadcast was tweeted out that showed a sea of Dodgers fans decked in blue and white across a couple of sections relentlessly chanting “cheaters! Cheaters! Cheaters!” toward the field.

The Dodgers, much like the Yankees, are among the fan bases that have felt most slighted by the Astros’ sign-stealing scheme that involved banging on trash cans because Houston defeated Los Angeles in seven games to win the World Series that season.

Last year, the Dodgers-Astros rematch did not feature any fans, but did have some sparks when Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly threw behind Alex Bregman and then had words for Carlos Correa after striking him out, which led to the benches clearing.

While the Astros’ sign-stealing scheme was revealed in early 2020, they have not had to face the music from the fans until this year because of the pandemic.

Only a handful of Astros remain from the 2017 team, but they are the core players, such as Bregman, Correa, Jose Altuve and Yuli Gurriel.

Altuve, in particular, has been subject to the harshest insults, which included some not-so-kid-friendly language at Yankee Stadium earlier this month.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers are only in town for two days but the Astros will have to hear it from them again later this summer when they head to Los Angeles for a two-game set Aug. 3-4.

The players have seemingly — at least publicly — shrugged off the hate and it does not seem to be affecting their play. The Astros entered Tuesday one game behind the Oakland A’s for first place in the NL West.

Yet, it does not appear as if the taunting and hate will end any time soon, especially if it has crossed into their home park.
