Padres SS Fernando Tatis Jr. left Tuesday's spring training game early after making a throw on a ground ball in the third inning against the Reds.

The Padres said that Tatis exited the game with left shoulder discomfort and that he will be re-evaluated on Wednesday.

UPDATE: J Cassavell joined John Kentera shortly after Tatis exited the game to discuss what he saw:

Tatis, 22, is coming off a breakout season which saw him ink a 14-year, $340 million contract in the offseason.

Expectations are high for both Tatis and the Padres after reaching the postseason last year and adding aces Blake Snell and Yu Darvish to the starting rotation.
