How Philadelphia Eagles View Washington Redskins Going Into Monday Night Football

PHILADELPHIA (94 WIP) -- Colt McCoy will get his second consecutive start on Monday night in South Philadelphia for the Washington Redskins with Alex Smith out for the season. McCoy is 7-19 in his career as a starter.

Washington is 6-5, tied with the Dallas Cowboys atop the NFC East, but the Philadelphia Eagles are just one game back at 5-6. And all three teams have just one divisional loss.

"Well, obviously this is another must-win game, in-division opponent," Jason Kelce told the "94WIP Morning Show" during his weekly Wednesday morning call in. "The Redskins right now, they're a little banged up, just like we are. But they still got a good defense, a good solid team and it's going to take us executing and continuing to get better this week in order for us to win this football. It's a big one for us on Monday night."

Kelce is sort of over the spectacle of Monday Night Football.

"Monday night games, they're OK," the 31-year-old center said. "You play in primetime and you're on national television, so all your family and friends are gonna be watching. As you get older, you appreciate the day games. You appreciate the 1:00 games. The primetime stuff, I don't — if people want to watch me, great. I don't know. At this point, I like the rhythm and the continuity of the 1:00 games."

The Eagles hope to lean on Kelce and the rushing attack for a second straight game. Undrafted rookie Josh Adams broke out last week against the New York Giants, rushing 22 times for 84 yards and a score. Kelce likes what he sees from the 22-year-old Notre Dame graduate.

"Bring a lot of energy, brings a downhill speed, explosive guy," Kelce said. "Can make some guys miss. He's been a piece that we've probably been missing back there. From a backfield, we've been a running back by committee for a couple years and I think that's alright, but you got to have each and every little piece there."

The Eagles are 6.5-point favorites versus the Redskins. The over/under is 44.
