The Red Sox are finally leaving Kansas City after a disastrous four-game series in which they dropped three to the lowly Royals, culminating in a 13-5 loss Sunday afternoon. And, just to make the flight home worse, they will be carrying some of the most uncomfortable memories of the 2022 season.
At the top of the list is Jarren Duran's seventh inning.
The Red Sox' center fielder - who has had issues defensively all season - lost a leadoff fly ball, allowing it to drop for a Nate Eaton triple.
The issues got worse in the next at-bat, with Duran short-arming a blast near the wall from Kyle Isbel.
To cap things off, Duran proceeded to start jawing with fans in the center field stands.
