NBC's coverage of Super Bowl LVI got off to a brutal start with an apparent production gaffe on Sunday.

Users on social media pounced when one of the network's text graphics bearing the name of "America the Beautiful" singer Jhene Aiko was instead superimposed over national anthem singer Mickey Guyton.

The responses came fast and furious, with some users -- including an annoyed Budda Baker of the Arizona Cardinals -- seeming to chalk up the flub to simple cluelessness:

But others seemed to think it may have been a case of "wrong Black singer," which would be especially embarrassing given the recent controversy over the lack of diversity in the league's coaching ranks.
