The Brooklyn Nets are looking to revamp their roster following their trade of Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks and they are reportedly considering trading Kevin Durant next.

Simmons, 26, has had one of the more epic collapses in pro sports over the last few years, stemming from his 2021 semifinals loss to the Atlanta Hawks as a member of the Sixers. Simmons then forced a trade to the Nets and missed an entire season.

In 37 games this season, Simmons is averaging just 7.4 points per game on just 5.9 shots per game, a number that is about half of his career average from 2017-2021.

Ever since that aforementioned Hawks-Sixers series, Simmons has failed to regain his minimal offensive aggressiveness and has become a mere faciliatory for the Nets.

Simmons has also dealt with back issues and nagging injuries throughout the season. He is currently out with a knee injury.
