The NFL knew it would have to be flexible regarding the scheduling of the 2020 season, and with multiple recent cases of COVID-19 directly or indirectly affecting several teams, that flexibility is coming to play.

On Sunday, the league announced various scheduling changes that rearrange the schedules of the Jets, the Chargers and the Dolphins among other teams.

These changes come after more bad news broke regarding the outbreak that has affected the New England Patriots and resulted in the postponement of their game.

As of now, the Buffalo Bills are still set to play against the Tennessee Titans, another team experiencing a large outbreak, on Tuesday, October 11.

As long as positive cases continue to sprout up every so often throughout the league -- which hopefully won't be the case -- the NFL will need to remain flexible and adaptive to whatever cases may emerge. There's also the very real possibility that the league gets put on hold should the coronavirus situation become too much to deal with.

"We've said all along every option's on the table," NFL chief medical officer Allen Sills said on NFL Network. "We've never taken any option off the table, which includes some type of pause or reset or any other type of alternative arrangements."
