Nick Sirianni ribs relative who wore Steelers gear to Eagles' win over Pittsburgh

Nick Sirianni made something abundantly clear about his family Monday morning.

“We hold grudges. And if you’re not with us, you’re against us.”

Bad news for Cousin Kenny.

Sirianni and the Philadelphia Eagles climbed to 7-0 on the season Sunday with their win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Eagles won with relative ease, dispatching Pittsburgh 35-13 as Philly continues its stellar start.

During his postgame press conference, Sirianni said that his mom’s cousin is a Steelers fan, and arrived at the stadium in their garb. He told “Angelo Cataldi and the Morning Team” in his weekly appearance on Monday that it was not received well.

“Well, first of all, they didn’t get to go anywhere near the sidelines," Sirianni said. "They walked themselves down and my mom looked up and just pointed to him like, 'You remember my cousin Kenny?' And I looked up and I kind of rolled my eyes and gave a little half wave. They won’t be receiving a Christmas card. ...

“My mom and dad stayed at our house last night, and we were bashing them. My mom’s sisters, they got in on the mix too … they were bashing Cousin Kenny too. It will not be a pleasant family reunion – I don’t go to those anymore, but my mom and dad do – so it might not be a pleasant one this upcoming summer.”

The Eagles head coach has made an effort to ingratiate himself with the people of Philadelphia. Disowning a relative for wearing Steelers stuff is just the latest chapter in that endeavor.
