If you had a tough time adjusting to the Toronto Blue Jays playing their home games in Buffalo during the 2020 MLB season, the Raptors may one-up them during the 2020-21 NBA season.
Though we don't yet know when the next NBA season will begin, the Raptors will need somewhere in the United States to play their home games. Chris Ryan of NJ Advance Media says that somewhere could be in the garden state:
"A person with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media everything is teed up to make a Raptors move to The Rock happen. With the NBA schedule tentatively slated to start in late December, the person said a decision on the matter could come within the next week."
The Prudential Center, which opened in October of 2007, is most notably the home of the New Jersey Devils. However, it did house the then-New Jersey Nets from 2010 to 2012, before the team moved to Brooklyn.
In July, the Canadian government decided that they would not allow the Blue Jays to travel in and out the United States wihtout quarantining during the MLB's season as they attempted to protect their citizens from COVID-19. The Blue Jays played their entire 2020 season at Sahlen Field in Buffalo. The NBA concluded their 2019-20 season in a bubble in Orlando, but will play their 2020-21 season outside of a bubble.
