Much has been made of Tim Tebow’s attempt to make the Jacksonville Jaguars as a tight end and on Saturday he finally debuted at his new position in a game.

And the newly turned 34-year-old certainly looked like someone learning a new position.

Tebow played 16 snaps in the 23-13 loss, but there were a couple instances in which he stood out — and not in a good way with one play in particular going viral.

The play that was subject to derision by fans on social media featured Tebow cutting across the backfield to make a blocking attempt on a rushing play, but the tight end fell down as he nearly whiffed on the block.

To make matters worse, Tebow got up and ran head first into a teammate.

Naturally, Tebow was mocked by many on Twitter.

That was not the only lowlight for Tebow, either.

Gardner Minshew attempted to connect with the former Heisman Trophy winner but instead Tavon Austin snagged the ball that appeared as if it were intended for Tebow.

Both players were running crossing routes over the middle of the field and to the same spot, so in fairness to Tebow, it is tough to say who was in the wrong spot, but color commentator Joe Thomas noted Tebow should have been more aggressive moving toward the ball.
