Pulling a page from the book of LeBron James, Zach Wilson is going dark on all of his social media accounts in an effort to tune out all distractions as he prepares for his second season with the New York Jets.

When speaking to reporters at Jets training camp Tuesday about why he's made the decision to scrub his social accounts, Wilson said he needs to hear and focus on "the voices that matter," even noting that parents can be a distraction.

"For me, it just comes down to limiting what voices I really need to hear and, right now, it's here, hearing what my coaches have to say, what the other quarterbacks have to say, and what my teammates are thinking on every single play," he said. "Even parents sometimes can be a distraction."

That last statement may be a veiled shot at Wilson's mom Lisa but it's easy to see why the former No. 2 pick wants to shut down all of his socials.

In one of the weirdest stories of the NFL offseason, Wilson's ex-girlfriend Abbey Gile accused the Jets QB of having an affair with one of his mom's best friends after people got on her for dating one of Wilson's teammates and roommate at BYU Dax Milne -- a claim Wilson's mom addressed on Instagram, telling people to "shut up" and claimed that she has "good friends.".

Wilson seems to have taken the rumors in stride, joking about the situation with a hilarious post on Instagram, but with his recent comments, it seems like he wants nothing to distract him from taking a leap in performancing in 2022.

In 2021, Wilson completed just 55.6 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns to 11 interceptions. He also led the league with 370 sack yards lost, per Football Reference.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the over/under win total for the Jets is at 5.5.
