Airbnb cancels booking for Proud Boys hate group member attending 'Million MAGA March'

Airbnb has officially withdrawn a reservation after it discovered that the customer was intending to stay in a property to attend Saturday’s “Million MAGA March” in Washington D.C.

The company declared that anyone "affiliated with hate groups" will not be allowed to use their service, after being made aware that the recent booking was by an apparent self-described Proud Boys member.

The booking was made by Ronald Gaudier, and uncovered by the We Will Be Ruthless Twitter account. The account shared a screenshot of Gaudier’s post with Airbnb. Gaudier tweeted using an encrypted messaging service Telegram. In it he described how he will be attending the march on Saturday in order to stop the "f*****g pinkos" from "taking down the country."

Airbnb responded to the tweet with:  "We really appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Anyone affiliated with hate groups has no place on Airbnb.

According to The Washington Post, the large-scale demonstration “Million MAGA March” was organized by President Trump’s supporters around their refusal to accept his loss of the 2020 election.

The Sun-Sentinel reports that about 250 members of the right-wing Proud Boys group will attend the march.

Joe Biden was declared the president-elect after his win in Pennsylvania put him over the 270 Electoral College votes needed.
