(ROANOKE COUNTY, Va.) -- The Virginia State Police and the Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse has issued an AMBER Alert on behalf of the Roanoke County Police Department, for a child abduction that occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
Roanoke County Police Chief Howard Hall said in a morning news conference that this all started when the Roanoke County Department of Social Services tried to execute a court-ordered child removal at the home of John and Ruby Allison. Police were told that nobody came to the door. The Social Services Department contacted police with their concerns.
Hall says that certain criteria had to fall into place before the AMBER Alert was activated, which was shortly after midnight on Wednesday morning. The father, John Allison, turned himself in to police and is in custody. He would not tell police where his wife, Ruby, is and the three children.
The children are believed to be in extreme danger and were last seen in Roanoke County. They are identified as:
- Cameron Allison, white, male, brown hair, brown eyes, 6 years old.
- Emma Allison, white, female, brown hair, brown eyes, 6 years old.
- Colin Alliso, white, male, blonde hair, brown eyes, 21 months old.
Ruby Allison and the children are believed to be traveling in a 1999 Maroon Chevrolet Suburban with Virginia tags VVU-3796. Ruby is described as a white female, brown hair, brown eyes, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds.
