Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -- There was a steady stream of people coming up to the Jefferson Davis Monument this morning, just hours after the Davis statue was pulled from its perch by protestors. Those people taking pictures were mostly in support of Davis' removal, one woman carrying a sign to express her feelings.
Cathy Springston says her grandfather used to take her to Ku Klux Klan rallies in Tidewater, but what she heard always struck her as wrong. Another man passing by, dressed for work, noted he wished he could have been there for the protests Wednesday night.
Mayor Levar Stoney tweeted late this morning that while the statues are coming down, he asks it be done legally.
