Grand Rapids, Mich. (Newsradiowrva.com) - An FBI agent revealed during a hearing for alleged plotters against Michigan's Governor that the alleged conspiracy also discussed "taking out" Governor Ralph Northam. Both Governors have faced a great deal of criticism for their coronavirus restrictions.
Northam's office says the Governor's security was informed of the threat during the investigation, although the Governor was not informed, as is protocol. The Governor has been under enhanced security for a period of time, and the office says it will continue.
Northam's office, like the Michigan Governor, placed some blame for the plot at the feet of President Donald Trump. The President, in the spring, tweeted that people should both "Liberate Virginia" and "Liberate Michigan." Trump did recently criticize the plot in a thread of tweets where he continued to criticize the Michigan Governor.
Northam declined to discuss the alleged plot during his Tuesday Covid briefing.
