Man Charged In Lakeside Incident Alleged Klan Leader

Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Henrico's Commonwealth's Attorney says she is investigating if hate crimes charges are appropriate against Harry Rogers, 36, and that Rogers is an admitted Ku Klux Klan leader.   Commonwealth's Attorney Shannon Taylor making the comments after additional charges were brought against Rogers for allegedly driving through a crowd of protestors in Lakeside Sunday evening.

Rogers allegedly clipped one bicyclist, who was treated at the scene.  He was originally charged with assault and battery, but now also faces vandalism and attempted malicious wounding charges.

Taylor says the protest was peaceful.   She also says Rogers is a "propagandist for Confederate ideology."
