Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Governor Ralph Northam says he will be extending the closure of entertainment businesses, like theaters and bowling alleys, past the original April 23rd reopening date.  Northam says he will have more information on Wednesday.

Northam made the announcement the same day his administration held a web conference to discuss the models they are using to guide their decisions.  The Administration is using multiple models, inlcuding one out of the University of Virginia.  Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Daniel Craig says the models show, so far, that social distancing is working, and that Virginia appears to be in good position statewide in terms of hospital space.  Northam says ventilators resources may be an issue, however.

Northam also responded to assertions by President Donald Trump that he controls the reopening of the country.  While not addressing Trump directly, Northam says he is making decisions in the best interest in Virginia, and will continue to do so.
