Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Richmond City Council has delayed a vote on a gun control proposal pushed by Mayor Levar Stoney.  Stoney proposed prohibiting firearms at permitted events, events that would require a permit, and adjacent to those events.

However, councilmembers raised questions, including how "adjacent" was defined.   Councilmember Chris Hilbert said a lawsuit was likely, regardless.  Debate over the measure went on for an hour.

Council will now re-examine the issue in September.
