RICHMOND – Beginning Friday, July 17, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will implement a traffic switch in conjunction with the ongoing bridge rehabilitation project for the I-195 south bridge over Powhite Parkway and CSX rail.
The traffic switch will open the right two lanes of the I-195 south bridge going onto the Downtown Expressway and close the left lane and left shoulder. Drivers in the area should use caution and follow signage.
The ramp from Cary Street/Cameron Avenue to I-195 south remains closed with a detour in place to accommodate this work. The full bridge rehabilitation project is slated to be complete in spring 2021.
