Blacksburg, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A Virginia Tech Chemical Engineering Professor says he, along with a professor in Hong Kong, has created a surface coating that inactivates Covid-19.  Professor William Ducker says 99% of the Covid-19 virus is inactivated within an hour.

Ducker says the key now is getting financing and ramping up mass production.  He says the university has been helpful in starting to move that forward.

Ducker says he isn't exactly sure why the coating works, but it does, and has been rigorously tested.  He says it has the added benefit of relying on the active ingredient coporous oxide, or recycled copper, meaning they won't have to rely on new materials.
