Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden bashed President Trump's plan to fight coronavirus in a speech on Thursday before offering a plan that was very similar to the president's.
"Our government’s ability to respond effectively has been undermined by the hollowing out of agencies and the disparagement of science," the former vice president said.
He added, "Unfortunately, this virus laid bare the severe shortcomings of the current administration. Public fears are being compounded by (a) pervasive lack of trust in this president, fueled by an adversarial relationship with the truth."
However, many of the steps laid out in Biden's plan for combating the virus have already been taken by the Trump administration. The Democrat front runner demanded that no effort should be spared in getting private laboratories and universities to help test for the virus, which is what the president did in February when he ordered the FDA to allow numerous private laboratories and hospitals to begin testing for the virus.
