Virginia Democrats have passed a number of major gun control bills in both chambers of the General Assembly which include universal background checks, a red flag law and reinstating the one-gun-a-month law.
According to NBC 12, though, one major piece of legislation did not make it through. The proposed bill to ban "assault weapons" was withdrawn in the Senate and a bill that was filed in the House of Delegates has yet to be brought forward for committee hearing.
