Because the left is hell bent on reframing all American history as being evil and racist, it makes almost perfect sense that they would smear the heroes of D-Day.

June 6 marked the 76th anniversary of the landing of Allied forces at Normandy beach in 1944, which helped break the Nazi grip on France and turned the tide of the war in Europe. However, over the weekend, several liberal "journalists" swooped in and compared the soldiers who took part in D-Day to the violent thugs of Antifa.

National Public Radio correspondent Mara Liasson retweeted a user recalling the D-Day invasion with the comment, "Biggest Antifa rally in history."

Washington Post media reporter Paul Farhi also chimed in: "Friend points out on D-Day anniversary that the men who stormed the beaches of Normandy were the true and original antifa."

Daily Mail reporter David Martosko responded with a tweet of his own which said, "The original Antifa, BTW, were the German communist Antifaschistische Aktion party. Here's their 1932 conference. Look at the flag. Now look at the modern Antifa flag on their handbook."

National Review editor Rich Lowry also hit back at Farhi's asinine claim: "To compare a duly constituted American army that liberated Europe with a bunch of thugs who spray paint, smash and burn things within the US in violation of our laws is, of course, grotesque."
