USA Today published a "fact check" on Friday that declared the allegations that the Obama administration did not replenish the national supply of N95 masks were true.

President Donald Trump said during Wednesday's White House coronavirus briefing that the Strategic National Stockpile of masks was all but depleted when he took office.


USA Today backed the president's claim, saying there was "no indication" that President Obama's administration attempted to replenish the stockpile after it had been used up during previous crises.

The article also added, "Calls for action came from experts at the time concerned for the country’s ability to respond to future serious pandemics. Such recommendations were, for whatever reason, not heeded."
