A disturbing video shows a group of men attacking a husband and wife after the couple attempted to stop rioters from looting a store in Rochester, New York.
Many cities in the U.S. were affected by violent protests over the weekend in response to the death of George Floyd, and Rochester saw widespread riots and looting on Saturday evening, according to WHAM-TV.
At the Rochester Fire Equipment Company, a group of rioters had smashed the glass on the outside of the store using 2x4s and ladders and were attempted to rob the jewelry store next door. A woman came out of the store and told them to stop vandalizing the store, at which point the group turned on her and began punching her in the face.
Her husband then came out of the store and tried to fend off the attackers, who began hitting him and his wife with the 2x4s. As the husband goes back into the store after being struck several times, one of the men threw the woman headfirst into a metal window covering.
The husband comes back and can be heard yelling, "get away from my wife!" The attackers then begin to hit him again with the 2x4s.
