Chesterfield County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A 14-year-old boy was found in possession of a handgun at Meadowbrook High School on Friday, Oct. 11.
Chesterfield Police say he displayed the weapon to another student on school property at the school, in an area outside the building, on Friday morning.
Police said the student to whom the suspect showed the gun called their parent, who then contacted school administrators. The school was subsequently placed on lockdown.
Officers located the student who was shown the gun and began investigating. Other responding officers saw two people in the area of the school, one of which matched the description of the suspect who displayed the gun.
Officers then detained those individuals. One of them was a 14-year-old boy who was identified as the person who displayed the gun, according to police.
No one was reported injured in the incident. Police say charges are pending for the 14-year-old boy.
The incident comes just over a week after a student was stabbed at Meadowbrook High School. Police have not confirmed any connection between the two incidents.
