Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The child who was injured after a shooting in Richmond’s Fan District Tuesday evening has been identified as being a 2-year-old boy.
At 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, Richmond Police officers were called to the 1900 block of West Main Street for the report of a person shot. Police primarily investigated a parking lot next to an ABC store, as well as a Family Dollar.
Witnesses say they heard an argument before the shots and believe whoever fired the gun knew the child. The toddler is expected to survive, and officers are not looking for a suspect.
“Detectives are not looking for anyone else at this time,” said a police spokesperson.
Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call Major Crimes Detective D. Jones at 804-646-5316.
