Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com)- On March 14th when her mother passed out right before it was time for school, 6-year-old Jordynn Etheridge, knew just what to do.
This is why Hanover County presented the young girl with the 9-1-1 Life Saving Award and recognizing her as an honorary communications officer.

Not only did Jordynn dial 9-1-1 and her grandma's cell phone number, but she even walked outside to confirm the address on the mailbox outside of her house.

She was too shy for comments today, but her mom says she was more worried about getting to school on time the day of the incident.

The entire incident was caught on the family's ring cameras and Jordynn's mom, Deja, says she turned the videos into a Tik Tok to spread awareness to other parents.

Cheryl Buchanan, who is the director of emergency communications sais that Jordynn behaved exactly how they wish all 9-1-1 callers would: calm, cool and collected.

Deja also said that with kids being home with family a lot during COVID, she had a feeling the emergency plan would come in handy one day.
