Henrico, Va. (NewsradioWRVA.com) - There's a Henrico Police Car in front of the Villa Park police precinct that is covered with flowers in memory of Officer Trey Sutton, who died in Wednesday night's crash that also seriously injured another police officer and a suspect.

Officer Sutton graduated from Henrico's Police Training Academy in February along with five others who gathered at that precinct today to remember their fallen academy-mate.

"He was my best friend", said Officer Matthew Cayne. "We're all trying to put two and two together and once something like this happens, I don't think any of us are ever ready for it."

All the officers remembered how competitive that Officer Sutton was and that drove them all to compete the rigorous details of the academy. They say that his enjoyment of being a police officer will drive them to serve in his honor for the rest of their careers.
