Buchanan County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management say all 44 people that were unaccounted for following Tuesday-Wednesday's flooding have been located, and without any deaths. In fact, Chief Deputy Eric Breeding says the only injury so far has been a snake bite.

Damage, however, is extensive. Assessments are only just beginning. VDEM says it had to cover over 30 miles of river and roads. Damage covered everything from minor damage to homes being swept away.

Buchanan also suffered damage (in a slightly different area) in floods last year. One woman was killed in those floods. VDEM has provided donation information for those who want to help:

Monetary donations can be made to the United Way of Southwest Virginia.

Physical donations can be taken to:
Twin Valley Elementary School
9017 Riverside Drive
Oakwood, VA 24631

General cleaning supplies are particularly needed.
