Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - For the first time in over 600 days, the Richmond Flying Squirrels are playing baseball. Tonight's game at 6:35pm is the first since 2019, as the 2020 season was cancelled because of Covid.
Only just under 3,000 fans are allowed under the current capacity rules. They will be seated in pods, and masks must be worn when not eating. Tonight's game is a sellout but tickets are available for the rest of the week.
Chief Operating Officer Todd Parnell says there will be some trial and error. Capacity will increase in Mid-May, as the Governor plans to loosen some limits. Parnell says they are glad to be back, as they lost their "stage" last year.
