Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -- Most of what we associate with the Covid Pandemic ends tonight at midnight. For the first time since March 2020, events can go to 100% capacity, and distancing is no longer required.

Mask rules were loosened two weeks ago. Fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks in most cases, the biggest exceptions being mass transit and health care. Masks are still required in schools, however, as most students have not been vaccinated. While the State of Emergency is set to expire on June 30th, Governor Ralph Northam anticipates taking action to allow mask wearing beyond that date.

The change comes the same day the Richmond Raceway mass vaccination clinic serves its last patients. The Richmond-Henrico Health District says over 165,000 shots were distributed. The district is now focusing on more community-centric events, for example, at George Wythe High School
