Henrico, Virginia (Newsradiowrva.com) -- Henrico Police have charged the man who allegedly hit several police cars with a cement truck in early May.

After a Richmond Police pursuit of a cement truck ended with a crash in Henrico. The crash occurred when police say the cement truck's driver, now identified as Giordano Roggiero, intentionally backed into two Richmond police vehicles.

Officers were inside the cars when they were hit by the cement truck, but none were injured. After exiting the vehicles, however, one officer discharged their firearm into the cement truck, striking the driver. Roggiero received life-threatening injuries, but was treated at a local hospital and later discharged.

Roggiero is now being held at the Richmond City Jail. He has been charged with attempted aggravated murder, felony vandalism, and felony eluding. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
