Charges in West End Evacuation Incident

Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Henrico Police have charged Michael Hardy, 52, with 23 charges, tied to an incident which lead to the evacuation of a portion of a West End neighborhood earlier this month. The charges include 17 felonies and 6 misdemeanors.

Police initially investigated the home on Durwood Crescent March 17th, after arresting Hardy and Sydney Crowe, 21, in relation to a domestic incident. Police then proceeded to find firearms and bomb-making materials at the home, leading to the evacuations.

The charges Hardy faces include:
18.2-85- Manufacture/possession of explosive device  

Class 5 Felony - 9 total 

27-100- Possession of Illegal Fireworks 

Class 1 Misdemeanor - 6 total 

18.2-248- Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substance - Meth  Felony - 1 total 

18.2-248- Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substance - Crack Cocaine Felony - 1 total 

18.2-248- Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substance - Xanax Felony - 1 total 

18.2-248- Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substance- Fentanyl  Felony - 1 total 

18.2-248- Manufacture Controlled Substance - Crack Cocaine 

Felony - 1 total 

18.2-281- Setting Spring Gun or other Deadly Weapon 

Class 6 Felony - 1 total 

18.2-258.02- Maintaining a Fortified Drug House 

Class 5 Felony - 1 total 

18.2- 308.4-(C) Possession of firearms while illegally manufacturing or distributing a  Schedule I or II controlled substance 

Class 6 Felony - 1 total

Residents were out of their homes for more than 24 hours during the investigation.
