Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Chesterfield Police say they, along with Powhatan and Goochland deputies, and State Police, wrote 122 citations during their one day enforcement effort on Route 288. The highway gets numerous complaints for speeding and reckless driving because of its straightaways and rural nature.
Law enforcement ended up stopping 105 cars. The citations were for everything from speeding to reckless driving, to use of a cell phone. Chesterfield and the local agencies often do these combined efforts on area roads, including not only Route 288 but also the Chippenham Parkway.
Police are asking drivers to please slow down and buckle up as the summer continues.
