Chesterfield Man Accused of Rushing Officers in Body Armor

Chesterfield, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) Chesterfield Police say a Centralia Road man faces a huge list of charges after allegedly rushing them wearing body armor. The initial call early Sunday morning was for an abduction call.

Police say when they arrived, Christopher Courteau, 29, went upstairs, then came downstairs wearing body armor and holding a gun. He eventually put the gun down but then charged officers, according to Police. He was eventually arrested.

The charges Courteau faces include: two counts of abduction; two counts of attempted capital murder; three counts of brandishing; three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony; five counts of assault on a law enforcement officer; shooting into an occupied dwelling; malicious wounding; unlawful wounding; attempt to disarm a law enforcement officer; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; use of body armor while committing a crime; and felony obstruction of justice. The people he is accused of abducting are his roommate and his roommate's girlfriend.
