Chesterfield County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A second teacher at Chesterfield Early Childhood Learning Academy has been arrested after allegedly assaulting two students under the age of 4.
Chesterfield Police say they received a referral from Child Protective Services on April 14th regarding an incident that occurred the day prior allegedly involving teacher Kathleen Harlow, 65. During investigation, they became aware of another such incident on December 8, 2022. Harlow has now been charged with two counts of misdemeanor assault and battery.
This arrest comes on the heels of another arrest of a teacher from the same school, also for allegedly assaulting students. That teacher -- Lisa Harbilas -- was arrested barely two weeks prior to Harlow's alleged assault in April. Despite this, Chesterfield Police say they don't believe this is a pattern at this school. They also say they have received no allegations of other assaults by Harlow at this time.
