Chesterfield County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Chesterfield County will start giving away free medication disposal pouches at public libraries. This comes as part of their "Don't Be An Accidental Drug Dealer" campaign.
They said that, since most people don't keep their medications locked up, 61% of people 12 or older who misuse drugs obtain those drugs from friends or family members. To address this, Chesterfield County is providing locking storage bags, as well as special pouches for disposing of expired or unused medications.
In addition to the bags, Chesterfield has a 24-hour drug disposal drop box at their headquarters on Ironbound Road.
