Chesterfield County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Chesterfield County is set to commence seven-day operations at both of its recycling convenience centers on Wednesday, November 1.
Recyclable materials can be dropped off free of charge at both the Northern convenience center (located at 3200 Warbro Road) and the Southern convenience center (located at 6700 Landfill Drive).
Last month, Chesterfield County also opened free community recycling centers at seven parks: Harry G. Daniel Park, R. Garland Dodd Park, Ettrick Park, Goyne Park, Irvin G. Horner Park, Huguenot Park, and Rockwood Park. They accept drop-off recycling from sun up to sun down, when parks are open to the public.
Chesterfield hopes the expanded convenience center hours and the seven new park drop-off locations will help it maintain a strong waste diversion rate.
“By restoring seven-day operations at our convenience centers, we are following through on a promise made to citizens during the county’s transition away from a centralized curbside recycling model,” said Kevin P. Carroll, chair of the Chesterfield Board of Supervisors.
