Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Richmond Police Chief Gerald Smith will start meeting with city residents this week. The meetings follow a summer of criticism Smith and Mayor Levar Stoney have faced over an alleged mass shooting plot.
The first meeting is Wednesday evening at Liberation Church on Midlothian Turnpike. There will be a second one Thursday at First Baptist on Monument. Both will start at 6:30.
Smith has been criticized for, at times, insisting the alleged plot was going to happen at Dogwood Dell. However, prosecutors have said they did not have evidence of any location. Also, the two men charged are yet to face any mass shooting-related charges.
