Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - AAA Mid-Atlantic says DMV shows that crashes between 3pm and 6pm rise 11% in the two weeks following "fall back" or the shift to Standard Time. A similar rise is also seen between 6pm and 9pm. Clocks shift this Saturday night.
AAA says it wants drivers to be aware of the shift and its impacts, and also, that there might be pedestrians out walking in the dusk and dark. Some schools do not let out until around 4pm. AAA also says drivers can expect to feel "off" for a period of time.
AAA also says people driving in the morning might find issues with the sun being in different spots, leading to issues with sun blindness.
