Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - UPDATE: Anderson has since told WRVA that while he was considering a run in Chesterfield for Commonwealth's Attorney, he has decided against it.
ORIGINAL: Conservative Delegate Tim Anderson (R-Virginia Beach) has announced on Facebook that he is not running for re-election. Anderson was placed in the same district as another Republican during redistricting. He was just elected in 2021.
Anderson rose to prominence during the final year of Governor Ralph Northam's term, challenging him over Covid and over the Parole Board. While in the House, Anderson controversially sued a bookstore over the books they had on their shelves, a case he lost.
Anderson's next step may be Chesterfield. Although he lives in Virginia Beach, he has admitted considering running for Commonwealth's Attorney in the county. Anderson has been a thorn in the side of Commonwealth's Attorney Stacey Davenport over her handling of a case involving a Virginia Beach pastor.
