In a world full of concerns about war, inflation, artificial intelligence, political division and more, maybe what we really need to come together is a good old cage match.

At least that’s what the organizers of Channel 5’s C5 Carnival seem to have in mind. Hunter Biden, the son of former President Joe Biden, a Democrat, said in a Thursday video posted to Channel 5’s X account that he’s been asked to enter a cage match with the elder sons of current Republican President Donald Trump, Donald Jr. and Eric.

“I think he’s trying to organize a cage match – me versus Eric and Don Jr.,” said Biden of Andrew Callaghan, creator of the YouTube show Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan. “I told him I’d do it, 100% in, if he can pull it off.”

According to USA Today, Callaghan said in an email to the outlet that he believed Biden made the comments “in jest,” but that he is “more than happy to facilitate” the cage fight if the Trump brothers are “willing to engage Hunter in mutual combat.”

“Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump have not responded to the challenge on social media as of 10 p.m. ET on April 9,” the outlet added. “USA TODAY reached out to the Trump Organization for comment.”

NBC News also said that Barry Coburn, an attorney for Biden, declined comment.

Even if the cage match doesn’t materialize, Biden said in the video that he’ll be joining the C5 Carnival tour. It kicked off earlier this month in Texas before moving on to Denver, Colo. On Saturday the carnival is making a stop in Vancouver, B.C., and it’s scheduled to go to Georgia, back to Texas and then on to Arizona.

In the video, Biden said he plans to join the tour in Phoenix, Ariz., on April 24, followed by a stop in San Diego, Calif., on April 25 and Albuquerque, N.M., on April 26. He did not mention which date might include the cage match.

“I think he’s got a lot of other surprises up his sleeve, a lot of fun,” said Biden of Callaghan’s plans.

Hunter Biden sat down with Callaghan for two interviews on Channel 5 last summer. First Lady Melania Trump’s legal team threatened to sue Biden over comments he made in the first video, including his claim that the couple was introduced by convicted sex offender and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

This year, controversy over the Epstein files exploded, leading to the U.S. Department of Justice releasing millions of documents and more attention on Trump’s past connection with Epstein. Melania herself made news this week after claiming in a speech that she had no connection with Epstein.

Hunter Biden has also been at the center of controversy. He was convicted on federal gun charges and was facing federal tax evasion charges and awaiting sentencing when his father pardoned him near the last days of his term in 2024. Trump ended Secret Service protection for Hunter Biden and his half sister Ashley Biden in early 2025.

While the Trumps might not be fans of Hunter Biden, they do have a soft spot for cage matches. Audacy reported last August that the White House was planning to hold a Independence Day cage match this July to celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary.
