Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - With the snowfall over, the concern now turns to freezing rain. NBC12 Meteorologist Jim Duncan says we could receive a quarter-inch ro a half-inch of ice into Saturday, which could cause some power outages. Additional ice would create more problems. The National Weather Service says travel will be near impossible

Freiden says we received a wide range of snow amounts locally. An area north of town, from Goochland through Hanover, received more than four inches. The winter weather closed schools, and cancelled Covid vaccine events, with the exception of one in the City of Richmond.

VDOT says, however, that they have begun in spots to start working on neighborhood roads. They will not be able to pre-treat for the ice because the roads are wet. A spokeswoman says they are laying down sand and salt, however.
