Richmond, Va. (NewsradioWRVA.com) - Dominion Energy says they're ready system-wide for whatever the big coastal storm is set to bring us. Dominion spokesman Jeremy Slayton says while most of the snow is set to fall in the eastern part of the state, there is a strong wind component with this storm that could knock out power even in places where not much snow falls.
Slayton says their crews are ready to tackle any issues and suggest that you become ready too if your power goes out. Having an emergency kit is a good start with flashlights, fresh batteries--and some blankets and warm clothing to keep you warm.
Don't assume that Dominion knows that your power is out. Slayton says to make sure you report your outage as soon as you can by reporting it on the Dominion website at www.dominionenergy.com or through the Dominion app. You can also report your outage by calling 1-866-DOM-HELP (866-366-4357).
