Chesterfield County, Va. (NewsradioWRVA.com) - The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in the 1900 block of Mount Blanco Road. This is in the Dutch Gap area of the county.
Police said around 10:17 a.m. on January 12, 2023, they responded to a crash with a motor vehicle in a retention pond. Witnesses saw the vehicle go into the pond; however, the driver did not exit the vehicle. The operator was pulled from the vehicle by police and fire personnel. The operator was then transported to a local medical facility and succumbed to their injuries. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family.
Police continue their investigation into this crash.
