Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Richmond’s Easter on Parade is returning to Monument Avenue this weekend. The event faced possible cancellation due to a lack of funding, but several streams of funding ended up coming through just in time.
This year, the Richmond tradition will happen thanks to several sponsors: Sage Wealth Advisors, the City of Richmond, the Fan District Association, and Thermacool. Sage Wealth Advisors contributed a total of $45,000, which was the amount needed to make it happen.
Easter on Parade will be on Easter, which is April 20, on Monument Avenue between Davis and North Allen avenues from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The free event features a parade of people, pets, porch music, and family festivities.
Other events taking place this weekend include:
• Dominion Energy Family Easter at Carriage House Lawn
• Earth Day at the Science Museum of Virginia
• Edgar’s Enchanted Garden Family Day at the Poe Museum
• Richmond Book Festival at Lois Harrison-Jones Elementary
