Eleven People Hurt in Dinwiddie Charter Bus Crash

Dinwiddie County, Va. (NewsradioWRVA.com) - At 11:18 a.m. Thursday, Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 85 in Dinwiddie County. A small charter bus was traveling south on I-85 when it ran off the road and overturned at the 42 mile marker.

All 10 passengers and the driver are being transported to nearby hospitals for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. At least two people were flown from the scene for treatment of serious injuries. There are no confirmed fatalities.

The Virginia State Police Richmond Division Crash Reconstruction Team is on scene to assist with the ongoing crash investigation.

Southbound I-85 is closed to through traffic at this time. Motorists are advised to check VDOT's 511 for detour information.
