Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Hurricane Fiona is not going to hit the continental U.S., says NBC12 Forecaster Nick Russo. However, Russo says the storm's path, which keeps it out in the water, could mean a major hurricane could hit Bermuda.

Russo says the primary threat to Virginia is rough surf and rip currents starting around Wednesday. Virginia could actually use some tropical rains, while avoiding the tropical winds and other issues. Russo says central Virginia is in what is considered "abnormally dry" conditions.

Fiona caused major problems, especially flooding, in Puerto Rico.
